My name is Silver DeTourney, I recently moved to Black Hollow and am your newest reporter. We are starting a new series spotlighting the residents of this quirky town. Our first guest is Ms. Seraphine, the town matriarch.
Silver: Good Morning, Ms. Seraphine. Thank you for letting me interview you.
Seraphine: Good Morning, Silver. I'm always happy to help the citizens of Black Hollow. Shall we jump right in?
Silver: Absolutely, let's start with an easy one. How old are you?
Seraphine: You’re a sweet boy but that isn’t a question you ask a lady.
Silver: When/Why did you move to Black Hollow?
Seraphine: Much better question my family founded Black Hollow, I guess you can say we’ve been here since the beginning.
Silver: What job do you have in Black Hollow?
Seraphine: Is matchmaker a job? In all honesty I have whatever job is needed by the town folk at the moment.
Silver: Do you have an embarrassing habit?
Seraphine: Dear boy, nothing embarrasses me so I don’t believe this question applies to me.
Silver: Tell me about the last time you cried:
Seraphine: A couple of weeks ago, someone poisoned our other new resident Sarah. Despite our best efforts she almost died and Adam’s despair was radiating off of him, I wasn’t able to close myself off and suffered along with him until it was over.
Silver: What is something you feel guilty about?
Seraphine: For every paranormal who has found solace in Black Hollow there are hundreds more living in secret, unable to be their true selves. I wish I could save them all.
Silver: If you could change one thing from your past what would it be and why?
Seraphine: I would have founded the town down in Florida. I don’t like the winters here, it’s colder than a witch’s tit and trust me I know that from personal experience.
Silver: Do you think redemption is possible? Why or Why not?
Seraphine: I absolutely believe in redemption BUT the person has to truly want it and work for it. Some people are lost simply because they refuse to change their ways.
Silver: If you could choose, how would you want to die?
Seraphine: I’ve had hundreds of years to contemplate that question and I never come up with an answer. I don’t want to die, I don’t like thinking about it, I have too much to do here to go to the beyond.
Silver: Do you have a funny story about something you did or saw someone do to a human visiting/living in BH?
Seraphine: Have you met Pascal and Toussaint yet? Those two are incorrigible, I think they spend all of their spare time trying to find ways to play pranks on people. We had to stop having the corn maze because they would wait till it was dark then fly down and pick up unsuspecting humans and move them to another location of the maze. Lucky for us they only did it to those who know who we truly are, I don’t know how we would have explained it to them.
Silver: Have you ever been in love?
Seraphine: I... well…I’m sorry this isn’t something I can speak of.
Silver: Do you want children? Why or why not?
Seraphine: I have thousands of children, none came from my flesh but I think of every person in this town as one of my own.
Silver: If you had one wish what would it be and why?
Seraphine: To live in a world where paranormals can live out in the open without fear of persecution.
